Kindness is always in Fashion: Donate and make a difference

Imagine being a child or teen suddenly removed from everything you know. Your home, your school, your familiar life, and stepping into a new world with nothing but the clothes on your back. For many youth entering foster care, this is their reality. No suitcase. No extra outfits. Sometimes, not even a toothbrush.

This is why clothing donations matter so much.

Right now, we have an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus by providing new clothing to kids in foster care. It’s more than just giving fabric and shoes—it's giving them dignity, confidence, and a tangible reminder that they are loved, seen, and valued.

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40

What is Foster Care Closet?

They are a non profit organization located in Lincoln, NE dedicated to restoring dignity to youth in crisis in the foster care system by providing new clothes and other needed items. The services they provide include 5 new outfits around each season including socks, underwear, jackets and a pair of shoes for free and the Foster Haven that allows kids to have a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment to wait while proper placement can be found.

When you help donate, you are:

  • Giving a scared child something clean and comfortable to wear

  • Helping a teenager feel confident walking into a new school

  • Meeting a basic need that so many of us take for granted

  • Sharing the love of Christ in a practical and life-changing way

How you can help:

  • If you live in the Lincoln/Omaha area you can bring your own set of new items. They have a tab with current needs that you can browse to get an idea of what to donate.

  • You can contribute by making money donations through their contribution tab.

  • You can order a rug from shoprugsnkisses on my shop tab knowing that 15% of the proceeds will go to supplying new clothes and physical needs for the foster kids

  • Pray for the foster families and social workers that help serve these amazing kids

I knew I wanted to give back to my community and when I found this organization I immediately wanted to help. Together, we can clothe these precious young hearts, not just in material things, but in love, dignity and grace.

Thank you for being part of a story that is bigger than any one of us. A story of hope, healing, and belonging.
